ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Tucked among thousands of pages of newly unsealed court records tied to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein are repeated references to Asheville, more than 100 mentions of the city scattered across investigative files, financial documents and FBI briefings.

A keyword search for “North Carolina” in the released materials produced 1,120 results. “Asheville” appears at least 105 times, though roughly 40 of those references are contained in FBI briefings and Asheville-area news articles. Other documents mentioning the city include financial records and a fraud case involving Southern Financial Services Inc.

Several files contain redacted information about one or more alleged victims believed to be from Asheville and Fletcher. Names and other identifying details have been blacked out. Those documents also reference travel arrangements and flights.

One file lists an Asheville address — 100 Technology Drive, Suite B — a former ADT Security Systems Inc. office.

The unsealed materials are part of a broader collection of documents, emails, photographs and other records connected to Epstein, who died in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. He pleaded guilty in 2008 to Florida state charges involving the solicitation of a minor.
