CEDAR MOUNTAIN, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The N.C. Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting this week to share proposed improvements to an intersection in Transylvania County and gather feedback from residents.

The informal, drop-in style meeting is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 24, at the Cedar Mountain Community Center. NCDOT officials will be available to discuss plans to construct a roundabout at the intersection of U.S. 276 and Cascade Lake Road.

The project aims to enhance safety and improve traffic flow. According to NCDOT, roundabouts are shown to reduce congestion and increase safety for drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists.

Representatives from NCDOT and the consulting project team will be on hand to answer questions and collect public input. All comments will be reviewed and considered as the project moves forward.

Additional project information is available at the public input website. Comments may be submitted at the meeting or online through May 9 by emailing us276-cascadelakerd@publicinput.com.
