ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A first-of-its-kind luxury retail experience is now open in Asheville, aiming to dazzle shoppers and support the region’s ongoing recovery from Tropical Storm Helene.

The Bal Harbour Shops Access Pop-Up Tour launched June 13 in partnership with Tanger Asheville, transforming the southeast parking lot of the shopping center at 800 Brevard Road into a high-end retail destination. The pop-up is open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Aug. 10.

Featuring a curated lineup of 12 luxury brands — including Tiffany & Co., Valentino, Balmain and Etro — the immersive shopping event also includes a full-service restaurant and bar, The Whitman, which blends Miami flair with locally sourced ingredients. The venue hosts daily happy hours, weekend brunch with live music and traditional Wednesday afternoon high tea.

A percentage of all sales — ranging from 1% to 10% depending on the day or event — will go toward a recovery fund benefiting local organizations, including Explore Asheville’s Always Asheville Fund and Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity.

Organizers said the tour aims to stimulate the local economy through tourism, sales tax revenue and job creation. In addition to retail and dining, the pop-up is engaging local event planners, performers, florists and other service providers to enhance the experience.

“Tanger is proud to partner with Bal Harbour Shops as they support Asheville’s continuing recovery,” Stephen Yalof, Tanger’s president and CEO, said in a news release. “We know both our returning and new guests will be delighted by the luxury experience and world-class brands.”

Designed using modular shipping containers, the venue has been transformed into a lush tropical setting, complete with palm trees, fountains, cooling fans and shaded walkways.
