ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) —
Two women were stabbed during an altercation at an apartment complex in Asheville on Sunday, police said.
Officers responded around 2:37 a.m. June 2 to Mission Hospital to investigate after two women with multiple stab wounds who sought medical treatment. One of the victims was in critical but stable condition, while the other suffered non-life-threatening injuries, a news release from the Asheville Police Department said.
The two women were “stabbed by another known assailant” during an argument on Atkinson Street, Asheville police spokesperson Rick Rice said.
Following the assault, one of the victims was able to drive them both to Mission Hospital.
A person of interest has been identified, but detectives would like the public’s help with any information about the stabbing.
