ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A crash on Interstate 240 in Asheville closed multiple lanes Thursday morning, causing major traffic delays.
According to traffic incident reports, the crash occurred around 8:02 a.m. on I-240 East near Exit 3B at Westgate Drive.
Authorities said three of the four eastbound lanes were closed near mile marker 3.5 while crews responded to the scene. The closures were expected to have a high impact on traffic through the morning commute.
The incident was expected to be cleared by about 9:30 a.m.
Drivers in the area were urged to slow down and use caution or seek alternate routes while crews worked to reopen the roadway.
