SWANNANOA, N.C. (828newsNOW) — After investigating the death, which occurred earlier this week in Swannanoa, the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office has reported that pedestrian Saeid Mohammad Khoshnoud, 71, was killed in a reported motor vehicle crash at 1916 U.S. Highway 70 on Monday, June 8.

According to a press release from BCSO, “the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office, along with Swannanoa Fire, Buncombe EMS, and the North Carolina Highway Patrol responded to what was reported as a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian” around 11 p.m., where they discovered a man, Khoshnoud, “lying in the roadway with serious injuries.”

Khoshnoud was transported to Mission Hospital, where he later died.
