ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Greta Van Fleet, The War on Drugs and Gov’t Mule are among the acts headed to Asheville this December for Warren Haynes’ 34th annual Christmas Jam.
Haynes announced the lineup Thursday, Oct. 15, for the Dec. 12 concert at ExploreAsheville.com Arena.
The lineup also includes JJ Grey & Mofro and Daniel Donato & Friends, along with special guests Jesse Welles, Lukas Nelson, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram and Yola. More performers will be announced.
“I’m really excited about this year’s lineup,” Haynes said in a news release. “It reflects the diverse array of musical styles that Christmas Jam is known for, which also reflects my own personal taste.”
The annual concert brings nationally known musicians to Haynes’ hometown while raising money for local housing efforts.
Christmas Jam began in 1988 as a gathering of musicians playing for local charities. Since 1998, the event has raised nearly $3 million for Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity, helping build more than 50 homes and pay for infrastructure and development costs in Habitat neighborhoods.
This year’s concert will benefit Habitat and BeLoved Asheville, which works to address housing insecurity in the community.
