This Veterans Day, help us recognize the veterans who are part of our Western North Carolina community.
Behind every uniform is a person, a family and a story.
This Veterans Day, 828newsNOW and Asheville Media Group invite you to help us honor the veterans who have served our country and are part of the communities we call home.
Share a photo of a veteran in your life, along with a few details about their service. It could be a parent or grandparent, spouse, sibling, friend, neighbor or someone whose service you simply want others to remember.
Their photo will become part of our Honoring Our Local Heroes gallery, recognizing veterans from across Western North Carolina.
Honor a Veteran
Share a photo and tell us a little about the veteran you would like to honor. Click the “Honor A Veteran” button below to get started.
Submissions will be accepted through Nov. 1, 2026.
