ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A massive protest is planned for downtown Asheville this weekend.
The Nationwide Day of Action rally will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, April 5 at Pack Square Park amphitheater.
Three local activism groups, Good Trouble WNC, the NC Poor People’s Campaign, and Indivisible AVL, have organized the event in conjunction with La Milpa, Sunrise Movement Asheville and the North Carolina Workers Party.
According to an event description, the event will join “a nationwide protest against the billionaire takeover of our government and the Trump-Musk assault on our freedoms and communities.”
Guests at the event will include veterans rights spokesmen Jay Carey and Will Nugent, additional speakers on immigration, climate and health care and musical performers like the Asheville Gay Men’s Chorus and Womansong of Asheville.
