ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The 45th Annual Western North Carolina Parade of Homes, hosted by the Builders Association of the Blue Ridge Mountains, is set for the weekends of Oct. 11-12 and 18-19. This year’s event will showcase a diverse lineup of homes across the region — in Asheville, Weaverville, Black Mountain and beyond — available for touring both in person and virtually.

The homes span a variety of styles, sizes and price points, designed to appeal to every type of buyer and to highlight the creativity and craftsmanship of the mountain building community. Together they showcase many of today’s most sought-after construction trends, such as:

Designing the ultimate family retreat

Bear Flower Retreat in Arden by Buchanan Construction was built with togetherness in mind, featuring six bedrooms, a teenage lounge, theater, game room, wine cellar and exercise room.

Celebrating traditional mountain craftsmanship

Nestled in Fletcher, Mountain Grove Pinnacle by Altitude Builders showcases majestic Douglas fir timber framing, locally sourced stone and a covered porch with soaring 13-foot ceilings.

Building with sustainability at the forefront

Elk Wallow Gap by Mountain Sun Building & Design, located in Asheville, is both beautiful and environmentally friendly, with 1,600 square feet of covered outdoor living, expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, a living roof, solar power and energy-efficient systems.

Blending bold modern architecture with natural surroundings

Modern at Elevation by Sineath Construction is carefully integrated into the rugged terrain of Black Mountain, with expansive light-filled spaces framed by steel, glass, wood and hand-laid river rock.

Bringing European elegance to the mountains

Highland Ridge Farm, built by Altamont Construction and located in Weaverville, brings French Countryside style to the Blue Ridge with finishes that feel timeless yet comfortably modern.

Pushing the boundaries of high-performance design

Raven House, built by Deltec Homes and located in Black Mountain, demonstrates the company’s modern approach to high-performance building, combining striking architecture with energy efficiency and a light-filled, contemporary aesthetic.

This year’s showcase comes at a pivotal moment for Western North Carolina, as communities continue to recover from the devastation of Hurricane Helene. For many, the Parade is not only a chance to explore dream homes but also to gather ideas for building back sustainably and resiliently in the face of future storms.

“The Parade is really about inspiration,” said Jimmy Penland, chair of the Builders Association’s Parade of Homes committee. “Whether you’re dreaming about your first home, planning a remodel or just love seeing what’s possible in the mountains, you’ll find ideas and craftsmanship that spark your imagination, in person or online.”

Visitors are encouraged to pick up a free Parade of Homes magazine to plan their tour. Magazines will be available this fall at member businesses throughout the region and at each home on the Parade. A map of magazine pickup locations will also be posted on the Parade’s website.
