LEICESTER, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A wildfire sparked this morning in the Leicester, N.C. area, drawing attention from passersby and local fire response teams.
According to the North Carolina Forest Service, as of 12:34 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 21, the fire had grown to 3 acres and is at 0% containment.

One post in a local Leicester Facebook group reported that the “barn fire” was located off Carsons Trail, a small road off of Hookers Gap Road.
Coordinates of the blaze from the N.C. Forest Service confirmed the report.
More fire trucks were spotted driving in the direction of the blaze.
