ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — An assault, a search for someone wanted for questioning and scams kept area police busy this week.
HENDERSONVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT
Hendersonville police are investigating a deadly assault that happened earlier this week.
According to a social media post, officers dispatched to the intersection of 7th Avenue East and Robinson Terrace about 8:43 p.m. Dec. 23 found a man with penetrating injuries consistent with an assault. EMS transported him to Pardee UNC Health, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The victim was identified as Kevin Deran Copelin, 50, of Hendersonville.
The assault appears to be an isolated incident, and detectives are actively pursuing all leads, the social media post said. No suspects have been named, and no arrests have been made.

WOODFIN POLICE DEPARTMENT
Detectives with the Woodfin Police Department are attempting to locate Jimmy Dean Burris, 38, who is wanted for questioning about a previous incident, a social media post said.

Authorities are searching for a maintenance vehicle that was stolen from the town of Hot Springs, according to a social media post. Anyone with information about the theft or vehicle’s location is asked to call 828-206-3215.
