ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Masieuh Dewayne Morgan, 19, has been arrested on 25 charges of fraud, including conspiracy and assault on a female, following 25 other counts earlier this year.
A detailed Asheville Police Department investigation identified Morgan as the alleged leader behind a network of fraud spanning Western North Carolina after the crimes were uncovered last summer.

Morgan was arrested on March 2, 2026, and charged with:
- Five counts of Felony Conspiracy
- Six counts of Obtaining Property by False Pretense
- Six counts of Accessing Computers
- Four counts of Uttering Forged Paper or Instrument Containing a Forged Endorsement
- One count of Financial Transaction Card Fraud
- One count of Forgery of Notes, Checks and Other Securities, Counterfeiting of Instruments
- One count of Larceny by Employee
- One count of Assault on a FemaleÂ
Morgan was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $266,000 secured bond issued by a magistrate.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the case.
