ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The Asheville Police Department partnered with the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office to apprehend two individuals wanted for multiple probation violations, orders for arrest and failures to appear in court.

Dennis Gates Miller, 33, and Hope Elizabeth Baker, 42, were taken into custody around 1:53 a.m., Monday, January 13, near the 5 block of the Julianne Place neighborhood in east Asheville.

Miller was wanted on eight counts, including:

  • Failure to appear in court on felony breaking and entering
  • Failure to appear in court on felony larceny after breaking and entering
  • Failure to appear in court on felony possession of stolen motor vehicle
  • Failure to appear in court on felony possess methamphetamine
  • Failure to appear in court for felony habitual felon – two counts
  • Felony parole violation
  • Failure to appear in court on felony flee or elude arrest with motor vehicle

Miller was booked at the Buncombe County Detention Center under no bond due to parole violation.

Baker was wanted on seven counts, including:

  • Failure to appear in court on felony possess methamphetamine
  • Failure to appear in court on felony possession Schedule II
  • Failure to appear in court on felony pretrial release violation
  • Failure to appear in court misdemeanor drug paraphernalia
  • Felony probation violation
  • Misdemeanor probation violation – two counts

Baker was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $44,000 bond.
