ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Asheville Police Department detectives have charged a suspect in connection with a double shooting that occurred Monday night at a hotel in east Asheville.

Edzavious Javon Lindsay is wanted on multiple charges including two counts of attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, robbery with a dangerous weapon and larceny of a firearm. He is also a fugitive from South Carolina for armed robbery.

APD responded to a motel on Tunnel Road around 11:11 p.m. on Feb. 24, where they found a male victim with a gunshot wound to the arm and a female victim with gunshot wounds to her leg and stomach. Both victims were transported to Mission Hospital and are in stable condition. The suspect had already fled the scene, leading detectives to seek public assistance in the investigation.

Lindsay is a 21-year-old Black male, standing 6 feet tall and weighing 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Authorities urge the public not to approach Lindsay, who is considered armed and dangerous.
