ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The Asheville Police Department has a warrant out for a man involved in a domestic armed robbery earlier this week.
Keithan Deshun Whitmire, 42, was identified as one of the suspects during the APD investigation. Whitmire is described as a Black male, 6′ 3″, 190 pounds with black hair, brown eyes, a mustache and a beard. Whitmire sports multiple tattoos, including “HILL” and “LIL KILO” on his right forearm, “CREST” and “LIL ROUND” on his left forearm, and “KILO” on his upper arm.
According to an APD press release, officers arrived around 2:40 a.m. on March 24 at an apartment in the 100 block of Bartlett Street to investigate a report of an armed robbery.
The officers spoke with two victims who reported that two men, including Whitmire, had entered the residence while they were sleeping and assaulted them. When one of the victims attempted to call 911, the assailants took the victims’ phones and fled. Both victims sustained minor injuries but declined medical treatment.
So far, Whitmire has been identified and charged with:
- Felony break/enter terrorize/injure
- Felony first degree burglary
- Assault on a female
- Simple assault
- Assault with a deadly weapon
- Interfering with emergency communication
Whitmire remains at large.
