ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Asheville Police investigators are seeking the public’s help in identifying an armed robber who held up a convenience store at gunpoint late Monday night.

Officers responded to an armed robbery around 10:35 p.m. on Monday, June 9 at a convenience store on the 400 block of Depot Street. Upon arrival, an employee told APD officers a man entered the store, brandished a gun, approached the counter and demanded that the clerk give him money.

The man left with $4,000 in cash and escaped the area in a vehicle.

The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 5 foot 6 inches to 5 foot 7 inches tall, who was wearing a gray zip-up hoodie with black sleeves, white T-shirt and white and gray sneakers.
