ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Asheville City Council member Maggie Ullman expressed her appreciation this week to residents who attended last month’s “Coffee with a Councilwoman” event and encouraged continued civic engagement at two upcoming public gatherings.
In a statement shared in collaboration with the Asheville City Council and members of the North Carolina General Assembly, Ullman thanked those who joined her at Ultra Coffeebar in April.
“Your support and willingness to engage in open dialogue truly reinforced the strength of our community,” she said via email. “It was inspiring to see so many neighbors come together to share ideas, concerns and hopes for our city.”
The next “Coffee with a Councilwoman” event is scheduled for 11 a.m.-2 p.m. June 3 at the Wrongway Campground Riverlodge. Ullman also announced a joint Town Hall for 6-8 p.m. June 5 fat the West Asheville Library, where she will be joined by N.C. Rep. Brian Turner and Buncombe County Commissioner Drew Ball.
“These gatherings are designed to ensure your voice is heard and to discuss the issues that matter most to you,” Ullman said in the email.
With budget season underway, Ullman stressed that community input remains essential.
“These conversations are important, but they are simply one part of an ongoing dialogue,” she said. “My commitment is to listen to your concerns — budgetary or not — because a better Asheville is built together.”
Ullman encouraged residents to attend the events and continue participating in shaping Asheville’s future.
