ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The Asheville Police Department has provided an update on the July 19 shooting on Biltmore Avenue.

In the early hours of Sunday, July 19, two were left dead and seven others were injured by a gunman outside Dalton’s Distillery on Biltmore Avenue in downtown Asheville.

While questions remain about the motive behind the shooting, “APD believes it was a targeted attack,” said APD Public Information Officer Rick Rice.

Rice said that as of Thursday, July 23, six of the seven injured victims were in “various stages of recovery” and one was in “critical but stable condition.”
