ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Police are asking for the public’s help to investigate a spate of drive-by shootings over the past several days, including shots fired into unoccupied vehicles and one occupied apartment.

Nobody was injured in the incidents and only property damage has been reported, Asheville Police stated in a release on Tuesday.

The first incident was reported around 12:15 a.m. on Sunday, April 7, at the Pisgah View Apartment complex, where officers found two unoccupied vehicles that had been struck by gunfire, police said. Officers reportedly found 24 shell casings while canvassing the area and reviewed surveillance video to see a white Nissan Altima leaving the complex shortly after the gunfire.

Later that morning, around 4:11 a.m., police officers responded to a report of gunfire at the Deaverview Apartment complex.

“When officers arrived on the scene, they located an unoccupied vehicle involved in the earlier incident,” a release states. Officers did not locate any property damage at that location, but they did recover 11 shell casings.

Tuesday afternoon, police released an update saying officers once again responded to reports of gunshots on the evening of Monday, April 8, at Pisgah View Apartments and discovered two vehicles and an apartment that were damaged by gunfire. Nobody was injured, but officers did discover 14 shell casings, the updated release stated.

Police were asking anyone with information about the incidents to contact APD at (828) 252-1110. People also can use the TIP2APD smartphone app or text TIP2APD to 847411.
