BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Katrina “Kat” Williams, a beloved community member and blues legend, passed away at age 58 on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025. This weekend, a collective of local musicians will perform a tribute show to the artist in Black Mountain, N.C.

The tribute show is presented by White Horse Black Mountain, a nonprofit music venue, in partnership with the Monte Vista Hotel. The performance will be held at 7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 28 at the Monte Vista, 308 W. State St., Black Mountain. The suggested ticket price is $30. Find tickets here.

The show will be hosted by David LaMotte and Anne Coombs, who will also perform during the concert alongside Lyric, Rhoda Weaver, Elaine Scott and Free Planet Radio.

All of the proceeds from the show will benefit Patrice Boudreaux, Williams’ partner.

Williams passed in November 2025 following a long battle with kidney disease. In her storied career, she performed in dozens of concerts and appeared on “America’s Got Talent” during the show’s third season. Williams took an active role in her community, serving on the board for the Henderson County Boys and Girls Club and performing free-of-charge at numerous events. She was known as a talented performer, a kind neighbor and a friend to many.
