CHIMNEY ROCK, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Chimney Rock at Chimney Rock State Park will reopen to visitors Friday, June 27, with online reservations now available through the park’s website.
Timed-entry reservations begin at 2:30 p.m. Friday, with guests able to choose from one-hour arrival windows. Visitors are encouraged to have their digital tickets ready at the gate and may stay in the park until it closes at 7 p.m.
Park officials say all trails and gift shops will be open, with the exception of the Skyline Trail, which remains under repair. The elevator to the Chimney is operational, and the Sky Lounge Deli will offer limited snack options and drinks.
The only access into the park is via N.C. 9 through Lake Lure. Other approaches — including U.S. 74A from Asheville, U.S. 64A from Hendersonville and N.C. 9 from Black Mountain — are restricted to local traffic because of ongoing road closures.
