ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — What should the city’s priorities be as it recovers from the devastation of Tropical Storm Helene?

City officials wanted to hear from residents, so they created a survey to gather input. Residents’ responses will help guide the Asheville City Council’s decisions as it allocates resources and establishes priorities for recovery.

“We have a long road ahead of us as we come together as a community to recover and rebuild in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Helene,” the city’s website said.

The survey, available in Spanish, Ukrainian and Russian, takes about 10 minutes to complete, and the results will be shared with the city council ahead of its retreat on Feb. 13-14, when council members will work on priorities for recovery.

The survey will remain open until Feb. 2.

Question categories include business and personal property and how the flood impacted the person taking the survey. There is also questions asking the person taking the survey to indicate the importance of repairs to roads and sidewalks and improving the water system.
