ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Authorities and the community are searching for a missing Swannanoa woman who was last seen Tuesday morning near the Swannanoa Fire & Rescue substation.
Charlotte Ann Roberts, 74, was reported missing from the area of 510 Bee Tree Road around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call Swannanoa Fire & Rescue at 828-230-1159.
Swannanoa Fire & Rescue said Tuesday afternoon that a potential sighting had been reported at Asheville Regional Transit headquarters, and crews are working to locate her in the Asheville area. Officials are monitoring social media for tips but said they may not respond to every comment immediately.
Multiple community members reported seeing Roberts on Tuesday morning. An employee at 6 Pack Smoke Stack said Roberts came into the store asking for change to buy a bus ticket to Asheville. Another person said she saw a woman matching Roberts’ description near a bridge around 8:45 a.m.
Other community members urged anyone who spots Roberts to take a photo to help verify her location and timeline.
Swannanoa Fire & Rescue and local residents are continuing the search, and officials are asking anyone with information to call 828-230-1159.
