ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Buncombe County Social Work is collecting school supplies to support the more than 300 school-aged children in foster care across the county.
The initiative aims to ensure all 325 foster children in the community are equipped with the tools they need to start the school year strong. Any extra supplies will be distributed to families receiving prevention services.
Donations will be accepted from Tuesday, July 22, through Thursday, July 31, at several locations during regular business hours:
- 40 Coxe Ave. (Health & Human Services)
- 200 College St. (County Administration)
- 35 Woodfin St. (Government Services Center and Family Justice Center)
- Black Mountain Library
- East Asheville Library
- North Asheville Library
- Skyland/South Buncombe Library
- West Asheville Library
County officials encourage residents to participate and help local students thrive this school year.
