ARDEN, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Buncombe County Parks & Recreation will host a Halloween-themed festival this weekend in Arden.
The event, Fall-O-Ween, will be held from 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 18 at Lake Julian Park.

What to expect at Fall-O-Ween
The free, autumnal event has plenty of fall-themed festivities on tap, including pumpkin and face painting, carnival-style games, leafy photo opportunities and food vendors.
However, the festival will put the “Halloween” in Fall-O-Ween with several ghostly activities too, including a spooky trail and a costume contest.
The costume contest will be split into two age groups:
- Kids 12 and under will compete at 2:30 p.m.
- Ages 13 and up will compete at 3:15 p.m.
Buncombe County Public Library will also make an appearance with hourly scary stories.
Fall-O-Ween is free and no registration is required.
