HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Mint juleps anyone?
Crossnore Communities for Children is hosting a Kentucky Derby-themed “Big Hats & Bow Ties” event at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at Champion Hills Club, to raise funds for its work “helping children who have experienced abuse or other trauma reclaim, rebuild, and reimagine the essential belief in a safe, dependable home.”
The 3rd annual event costs $100 per person and will include derby-themed fare, mint juleps, a wine pull, silent auction and a “Big Hat & Bow Tie” contest, all leading up to a viewing of the running of the 150th Kentucky Derby televised from Churchill Downs.
People who want to attend were asked to RSVP by April 30 at crossnore.org/derby.
