Cynthia (Cindi) Lynn Sthreshley, of Hendersonville, NC, died unexpectedly, but peacefully on June 28, 2024, in her home. She was 72 years old.
Cindi was born in Columbus, Ohio on May 26, 1952. After being an only child for 13 years to her parents, Billie and Dick Ballou, she was blessed with 3 siblings (Greg, Cris, and April).
Cindi was a graduate of The Ohio State University Nursing class of 1986. As a dedicated nurse, she touched the lives of countless patients and colleagues with her compassion and care. Her “last shift” was at Pardee Hospital where she worked as a wound care nurse.
Her faith in Jesus was the cornerstone of her life, and she found solace and strength in reading her bible every morning. She was a member of a close-knit circle of church friends from Trinity Presbyterian who provided her with unwavering support and companionship throughout the years.
Cindi met her husband Fitz while taking a break from nursing to focus on home staging and real estate. They met at an open house, and she describe Fitz as the “love of my life” and often stated that she wished she met him years earlier. They have been married since April 15, 2017.
Anyone who knew Cindi, knew that her family meant everything to her, and she was a devoted mother to her three daughters Amy, Summer, and Amanda. Her daughters will miss her slight hint of Coco Chanel, knowing that she was always just a phone call away, and lovingly playing with their hair when they felt sick or overwhelmed.
Cindi created a beautiful, blended family over her lifetime stepping into the role of mother, grandmother, sister, and friend for those whose lives she crossed paths with, continuing with that roll even when life circumstances changed. She loved to attend one of her 17 grandkids events (sports, dances, awards ceremonies) and she relished the time with her two great-grandkids. Cindi passed just before her favorite family holiday, her loved ones had so many memories to share during the 4th of July celebration.
May her loved ones find peace, knowing she went to dance with abandon on the streets of heaven with her parents and countless loved ones that preceded her. A celebration of her life was held on Saturday, July 6th, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Presbyterian in Hendersonville, NC.
