ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A Driver License Express office in Asheville is temporarily closed for business.

The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles announced on Aug. 21 that the office located at 600 Tunnel Road in Asheville, directly behind the N.C. There is currently no time frame as to when the office will reopen.

A Driver License Express office offers services such as getting a REAL ID, renewing a driver license or state ID, ordering a duplicate license or ID card and handling address changes.

Asheville’s facility was the second express license office to open in the state, with Greensboro’s opening in 2019. Wednesday morning, NCDOT tweeted that the Asheville office would be closed for the day due to staffing issues.
