CEDAR MOUNTAIN, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Officials at DuPont State Recreational Forest will temporarily close several parking and access areas for maintenance. Visitors are encouraged to plan accordingly.

The High Falls access area will be fully closed Tuesday, April 22, through Friday, April 25. During this time, visitors may access High Falls Loop and Buck Forest Road via the overflow parking lot. The entrance is the second road on the left, just past the High Falls Access Area. Visitors should use caution when walking along the shoulder of Staton Road and through the access area and remain alert to machinery and personnel.

The visitor center will also be closed during this period; however, public restrooms will remain open.

The Hooker Falls access area will be fully closed Monday, April 28, through Friday, May 2. Visitors may access Hooker Falls via the Lake Imaging Access Area using Holly Road to reach Hooker Falls Trail. Restrooms at this location will remain open.

Guion Farm will undergo parking lot maintenance Monday, May 5, through Friday, May 9. The parking area will remain open, but visitors are urged to stay alert to ongoing work and equipment in the area.
