ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A convicted felon was arrested Saturday morning after Asheville police responded to reports of a man with a gun at a business on Patton Avenue.
Officers arrived around 9:04 a.m. in the 1000 block of Patton Avenue and made contact with Ethan Scott Kirby, 29, who appeared to have a handgun concealed under his shirt, police said. Kirby was taken into custody without incident.
During the arrest, officers found a concealed firearm and illegal drugs in Kirby’s possession, according to an Asheville Police Department news release.
Kirby was charged with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, felony possession of a firearm by a felon and carrying a concealed gun.
He was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility with a secured bond set at $25,000.
