ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A vehicle with fictitious tags drew police attention in West Asheville on Wednesday evening, and that led to two occupants being arrested on drug-related charges, Asheville Police said.
According to a press release, about 7:27 p.m. officers made a traffic stop after spotting a vehicle with fictitious license tags. Police said that following the stop, the occupants were found to be in possession of 11.48 grams of fentanyl and 5 DU of ecstasy.
A passenger, Dustin Ray Norton, 27, was arrested and charged with trafficking opium, felony possession of a Schedule I substance and felony possession of a Schedule II substance.
He was booked into Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $40,000 secured bond ($4,000 to a bondsman) issued by a magistrate.
The driver, Megan Grace Ward Stackable, 24, was arrested and charged with felony maintain a vehicle for controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia and having a fictitious vehicle tag.
She also was booked into the detention facility under a $20,000 secured bond (or $2,000 to a bondsman) issued by a magistrate.
