ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Looters have been a consistent problem for the Asheville community in the wake of Hurricane Helene. This past weekend, the Asheville Police Department arrested a few more.

APD officers responded to reports of a break-in around 10:20 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15 at a business on Azalea Road in East Asheville.

Upon arriving, Samantha Diane Dockery, 31, and Aaron Scott Cavener, 45, were taken into custody without incident. A third looter, Nicholas Walker Jones, 38, remains at large, though APD has obtained a warrant for his arrest.

Jones, last seen in Black Mountain, is described as a bald, blue-eyed white male, 6’2″ tall, 215 pounds, with a cross tattoo on his right arm and lion tattoos on his left shoulder and chest.

The three looters were each charged with felony counts for breaking and entering and larceny as well as for trespassing during an emergency.

Dockery and Cavener are being held at the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $5000 bond.
