ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — South Asheville gets its own summer music series with Concerts in the Park.
Biltmore Park Town Square has organized three different outdoor concerts to rock out to every second Friday, all summer long at Cecil Park, located right in front of Hickory Tavern.
From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, June 13, the Mission Accomplished cover band will play their groovy set of 60s, 70s and 80s rock and blues tunes. Even groovier is that the band is made up entirely of health professionals: three surgeons, a nurse, a pharmacist and a data scientist.
Mission Accomplished will open the Concerts in the Park season this weekend.
From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, July 11, Laron Huntley & The Gravely Brothers will bring a signature Southern twang to their classic country, rock and Americana sound.
Lastly, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, August 8, R&B quintet Soul Blue plays the blues.
Lawn chairs, blankets and food from local Biltmore Park eateries are encouraged at the family-friendly events.
