ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A man arrested on federal warrants in Fletcher picked up some additional charges after authorities searched his vehicle.

Agents with the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office Illegal Gun Reduction and Narcotics Task Force (IGRANT) partnered with the U.S. Marshals Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force (CRFTF) to arrest Steven White on outstanding federal warrants on Feb. 19, a news release from the sheriff’s office said.

During White’s arrest, agents gained probable cause to search his vehicle. That search resulted in additional charges:

  • Trafficking in methamphetamine – Level 2 – transport
  • Trafficking in methamphetamine – Level 2 – possession
  • Possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute methamphetamine
  • Trafficking, opium or heroin – Level 3 – transport
  • Trafficking, opium or heroin – Level 3 – possession
  • Possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute heroin
  • Possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute cocaine
  • Maintaining a vehicle/dwelling place for controlled substance
  • Possess drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of a stolen firearm
  • Possession of firearm by felon
