ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) —
A man wanted in connection with a murder last week at a Greenville, S.C., hotel was arrested Tuesday morning at a hotel on Tunnel Road in East Asheville, police said.
Eric Devon Davis Jr., 26, was apprehended Tuesday morning by the U.S. Marshals Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force, which included a member from the Asheville Police Department, APD said in a release.
Davis was wanted by the Greenville Police Department in connection with a June 19 homicide at a Greenville hotel, police said. Online records from the Buncombe County Detention Facility indicated he was being held on $1 million bond and awaiting extradition to South Carolina.
Multiple media outlets in South Carolina reported that a shooting happened just before 12:30 a.m. on June 19 at Wood Spring Suites on Orchard Park Drive in Greenville, injuring a 22-year-old man who later died at a local hospital.
According to the press release, an Asheville Police Department task force member worked with the Greenville Police Department and other task force members to locate and arrest Davis.
