BREVARD, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The Pisgah Conservancy is calling on the public to help name a newly established 20-mile trail loop that connects Pisgah National Forest, Bracken Preserve and the city of Brevard.
The scenic route includes sections of the Stony Knob Trail, Joel Branch Road, Horse Cove Road, Estatoe Trail, Brevard Greenway and Bracken Mountain Trail. Organizers said the loop offers a unique blend of natural forest beauty and small-town charm, appealing to hikers, cyclists and other outdoor enthusiasts.

Entries for the naming contest will be accepted through July 15. A selection committee made up of representatives from Explore Brevard, the U.S. Forest Service, the city of Brevard and The Pisgah Conservancy will review submissions and announce a winner later that month.
The winning name will be used on official wayfinding signs along the route. Organizers emphasized that the naming effort applies to the overall loop and will not replace the names of any individual trails.
Submissions can be made here.
