HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Two Hendersonville recipients of the Betty Taylor Memorial Award will be honored at an art exhibition later this week.
Hannah Gambino and Dalleen Jackson-McClasky were the 2024 awardees of the annual arts grant. Their artwork will be exhibited from 4 to 6 p.m., Saturday, April 5 at Art Mob, 124 4th Avenue East, Hendersonville.
Betty Taylor awards are given to emerging artists in need of financial support and living in Henderson, Polk or Transylvania county. Applicants must be committed to advancing their career working in arts and crafts and have a project in mind that the Betty Taylor grant would aid them with.
“It’s award for emerging artists, so they’re maybe newer in their career, and it’s kind of helping them with a deeper study of what they are hoping to work on in their career,” explained Bethany Adams, communications coordinator for the Arts Council of Henderson County.
This Saturday’s event will be a look back at the work created by Gambino and Jackson-McClasky over the last year.

“This art exhibition that’s coming up on April 5th is kind of like a celebration of their work throughout 2024 after receiving the award last year,” said Adams.
According to Adams, the 2025 Betty Taylor award winner has been selected and will be announced soon.
