ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) —

An occupied home was struck by gunfire late Thursday night in south Asheville, but no injuries were reported, Asheville Police reported.

According to a release from the Asheville Police Department, officers responded to a report of gunfire about 11:39 p.m. Thursday, May 23, in the 950 block of West Chapel Road, and during a walk through the area found an occupied residence that had been struck by gunfire. Officers also found 23 shell casings from different caliber guns, police said.

No suspect was at the scene.
