James (Joe) Reynolds passed away peacefully on September 13, 2024 at the Care Partners Hospice Solace Center after a period of declining health. He was seventy-two.
Joe lived in Buncombe County his entire life. In his younger years, Joe, his father, grandfather and uncle owned and operated several dump trucks that served the residents of Buncombe County. Joe and his Dad hauled the asphalt that paved all of Old Fort Mountain and many streets in downtown Asheville while working for Asheville Paving. In later years Joe drove a forklift at the Ingles Warehouse in Swannanoa and he often commented how much he missed and loved his job there.
Joe was preceded in death by his mother and father, Jim and Ella Mae Reynolds, and his grandparents Ethel and Wilbur Hawkins. Joe was also recently preceded in death by his beloved little dog “Moe”.
Joe leaves behind his only son, Andy Reynolds (wife Dawn) and 2 wonderful grandsons Leighton and Lawson Reynolds. The family is making private arrangements for Joe’s burial.
