ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Buncombe County commissioners plan to meet with both Asheville City Schools and Buncombe County Schools this week during a specially called meeting.

The Joint School Board Meeting & Strategic Plan Retreat is set to take place Aug. 22 at the Harrah’s Cherokee Center located at 87 Haywood Street in Asheville.

The first part of the day will be a joint meeting with Asheville City Board of Education and Buncombe County Board of Education members, running from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. No action or public comment will be taken at this joint meeting, however the meeting is open to the public.

The second part of the day will be a Strategic Plan work session for the county Board of Commissioners, which will take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. No action or public comment will be taken at this work session either.

Both meetings are open to the public and will be streamed to the county’s Facebook channel.
