HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A juvenile was hospitalized on Thursday after being stabbed during a fight at a Hendersonville high school.

A public information officer with the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed an altercation broke out between two juveniles on Sept. 5 at West Henderson High School. During the course of the fight, one juvenile received a stab wound. A school resource officer called 911 about the fight around 3:05 p.m.

The sheriff’s office told 828newsNOW via email the juvenile was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and “the suspect has been apprehended by the School Resource Officer.”

The sheriff’s office said there is no threat to the public at this time.

“To preserve the integrity of the investigation and due to the situation involving minors no further information is available at this time,” an updated press release from the sheriff’s office said.
