FLAT ROCK, N.C. (828newsNOW) —
“La Vie en Rose” is French singer Edith Piaf’s famous ode to living a happy life.
In Flat Rock this week, La Vie en Rosé Art & Wine Festival is accenting that sentiment to benefit the arts.
Marked Tree Vineyard hosts the annual fundraising event Thursday, June 6, through Sunday, June 9, to benefit The Arts Council of Henderson County, Henderson County Art League and The Hendersonville Symphony, for scholarships, grants and programs.

“It’s always been to benefit different art organizations here,” said Halle Scaturo, executive assistant at Marked Tree Vineyard.
La Vie en Rosé will have an open art exhibit of 49 artists during the winery’s regular operating hours.
“It’s about 150 works. Each one has about three works,” said Diane Dean, president of the Art League and an exhibiting artist. “We have artists who come and paint around the grounds, and people can observe them painting in addition to the artists in the tent.”
Mel Ailiff, executive director of the Arts Council, is most excited about her Paint y Vino event, one of several Latin-themed activities.
“We also have a paint and sip activity so that people who are unskilled in art can also participate in art-based activities,” Ailiff said. “I think that art should be something that everybody can find joy in.”
La Vie en Rosé falls each year on National Rosé Day, the second Saturday of June. Marked Tree Vineyard will debut a new rosé during the fundraiser, “Chloe.”
“Chloe” is named after one of the vineyard’s three dogs, joining “Sweet Ellie Mae” and “Otis” to round out the namesake trio.
Admission is free to the winery and art exhibit, but there are ticketed events throughout the weekend.
Thursday, June 6, the Art League hosts a preview Fine Art Gala from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Attendees get early access to the festival art exhibit, a sample of charcuterie and Marked Tree wine in a souvenir glass. Jason DeCristofaro and his jazz ensemble will be performing. Tickets are $45.
Friday, June 7, Marked Tree hosts L’Atelier, a fashion show and silent auction, beginning at 6 p.m. There will be music by DJ IROC MUSIC. Tickets are $40.
Saturday, June 8, The Arts Council sponsors Paint y Vino, a painting class which comes with a glass of wine. The sessions will be at 1 and 3 p.m. Tickets are $55.
Latin Dance Night begins with lessons at 6 p.m. by Arian Martinez and Tola Sun followed by a salsa dance night with music by David Rodriguez and the Latin Hustle. Tickets are $45.
