ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — An odd armed robbery occurred yesterday evening at a grocery store in west Asheville.

Jeffrey Dewayne Bradburn, 33, was arrested without incident and charged with robbery with dangerous weapon, shoplifting concealment goods and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bradburn was arrested after APD officers responded to a report of an armed robbery around 5:25 p.m., Monday, March 31 around the 600 block of Haywood Road.

Upon arrival, a store employee informed the officers that Bradburn had stolen a cinnamon bun and incense and that when confronted, he displayed a machete before fleeing on foot.

APD officers quickly located the suspect after canvassing the area. Bradburn matched the employee’s description and was eating a cinnamon bun.

Bradburn was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $50,000 bond.
