ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The Asheville Police Department have arrested a man who discharged a gun several times in the River Arts District on Friday evening. No injuries occurred, though property damage has been reported.

APD officers responded to reports of a person with a gun around 6:37 p.m. on Friday, May 30 in the 300 block of Riverside Drive. While canvassing the area, officers located a loaded revolver and shell casings.

Through the course of their investigation, officers determined that Kennith Wayen Hubert, 46, discharged a firearm at least four times during a verbal dispute. He was taken into custody without incident and charged with discharging a firearm in city limits and injury to personal property.

Hubert was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $1,000 secured bond issued by a magistrate.
