WEAVERVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) —

A Weaverville man was arrested and charged with Driving While Impaired on Saturday, after the vehicle he was driving reportedly struck a pole next to the Wells Fargo bank building on Weaver Boulevard, Police Chief Somer Oberlin said.

According to Oberlin, officers originally were dispatched to the bank after witnesses reported a vehicle had struck the side of the building. Officers arrived in the area and found a vehicle had struck a pole next to the building, causing damage to the vehicle.

Following an investigation, Ezequial Tomas, 24, of Weaverville was arrested and charged with Driving While Impaired, and was placed under a $1,000 secured bond, the police chief said.
