A Hendersonville man has been found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder in the December 2022 shooting deaths of a man and woman found dead inside a vehicle in Fletcher.
After a weeklong trial, a Buncombe County jury on Tuesday (March 12) found Godiet Corral, 33, of Hendersonville, guilty of both counts. Visiting Superior Court Judge Karen Eady-Williams sentenced Corral to serve two consecutive life terms of imprisonment without the possibility of parole.
According to a release from the Buncombe County District Attorney’s office, Corral was arrested and charged after victims Sandy Torrey and Bryan Khopkar were found dead inside a vehicle parked at a Shell gas station on Mills Gap Road in Fletcher.
The office declined to make additional comments on the case because a related case currently is pending trial.
