ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A man remains in critical condition after being stabbed in the head Wednesday afternoon in downtown Asheville, police said.
Asheville Police officers on patrol discovered the injured man around 2:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Patton Avenue, according to a department news release. Officers found a knife still lodged in his head, and the suspect had already fled the scene.
Police provided emergency medical care before EMS transported the victim to Mission Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
