According to a press release, Christopher Jermaine Wilborn, 45, pleaded guilty on Thursday, June 13, to charges of:

The incident was reported on Nov. 7, 2023, at the Pisgah View apartment complex in Asheville, where a woman who was bleeding from a head wound told Asheville Police Department officers that Wilborn had struck her in the head with a knife, causing a six-inch laceration, the press release states.

“She further stated that Wilborn had locked her in a room for two days, not allowing her to leave, and that while being held in the room, Wilborn strangled her,” the district attorney’s office said in the release.

According to the release, the woman was treated at a hospital and made a full recovery but later told prosecutors she did not wish to cooperate further in a prosecution of Wilborn.

Following Wilborn’s guilty plea to the three felony charges, Superior Court Judge Alan Thornburg sentenced him to serve an active prison term of 60 to 90 months in prison, the release states.
