MARION, N.C. (828newsNOW) —
A Marion man has been arrested in a drug overdose death.
Christopher Scott Buchanan, 48, has been charged with felonious death by distribution, the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
The investigation began when deputies responded to the overdose of a man in March 2023, the news release said. The patient was transported to Mission McDowell, where he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities said evidence led them to Buchanan, who was arrested May 20.
Buchanan was issued a $250,000 secured bond.
